Tips, Tricks & FAQs

A little planning and a few smart travel tips can make your SINTER experience even more rewarding – and might save you some cash along the way. After all, who doesn’t want to save more money for metal clay?

Head straight to the FAQs

Money-Smart Travel Tips

  • Share a room – Buddying up with a friend (old or new!) is a great way to cut your costs in half. Splitting a double room at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld can save you both money. Need a roommate? Post in the AMCAW Members Group on Facebook to connect with others.
  • Share a ride – Driving in? Carpooling with a fellow attendee makes the trip more fun and helps split expenses. Just post in the AMCAW Members Group on Facebook with your travel details – when and where you’re heading out – and see who else might be on the road.
  • Book early – Airfare can increase significantly the closer you get to your departure date.

Worry-free Travel Tips

  • Planning flights – Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the closest airport, located about 10 miles from the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld.
  • Getting from the airport – Taxis typically cost $35–$45 USD. Uber rides range from $12–$19 USD, depending on traffic and time of day.
  • Traveling from outside the U.S. – Be sure to check whether you need a visa, visa waiver, or ESTA before booking your travel. Requirements vary by country, so don’t leave it to the last minute.
  • Consider travel insurance – For extra peace of mind, consider purchasing travel insurance. Some policies now offer “cancel for any reason” coverage – just in case your plans need to change unexpectedly.
Can I book a workshop pre- and post- SINTER?
Absolutely! We’ve lined up some incredible workshops both before and after the main event, so you can extend your creative time in Orlando. Be sure to book early – these spots are limited and likely to sell out fast!
When do I get my workshop supply list?
If you’ve registered for a workshop, you’ll receive a supply list directly from the instructor well in advance, giving you plenty of time to gather your materials before SINTER.
What kind of clothes should I pack?
Comfort and creativity go hand in hand at SINTER! You won’t need to leave the hotel during the event, so pack comfortable clothing and shoes you can wear all day. Hotel rooms can run chilly, so toss in a light sweater or layer just in case.

Evening attire ranges from smart casual to as much bling as you can bring – we love to see your sparkle!

What should I wear to the Saturday night Beach Party?
The Beach Party is a relaxed, festive affair – smart beach casual all the way up to fabulously dressy, depending on your vibe. Think beach balls, limbo sticks, and Margaritas, so come ready to have fun!

A live duo will keep the party going with upbeat beach tunes after dinner, so don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes!

What do I need to bring to SINTER?
Just your enthusiasm! We’ve got the rest covered. Your goody bag will include a notebook and pen for jotting down ideas, plus a printed program with the full schedule of presentations and workshops.
Is the DoubleTree SeaWorld fully accessible?
The DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld offers wheelchair-accessible rooms with two queen beds and accessible tubs. Availability may be limited and varies by room type, so we recommend requesting any needed accommodations when you book to ensure they’re available. The hotel also offers a range of special assistance services – feel free to contact them directly for details.
How does room sharing work, and what are the costs?

AMCAW has reserved a block of double-occupancy rooms at a special rate of $159.00 per night, plus 6.0% occupancy tax and 6.5% sales tax – for a total of $178.76 per night. This rate includes complimentary parking (a $30/day value) and breakfast for two guests.

We strongly encourage early booking to ensure you secure a room within the AMCAW block.

If you plan to share a room, please coordinate with your roommate before contacting the hotel to make your reservation (hotel contact info coming soon). The hotel will require the names of all guests sharing the room at the time of booking so that each person has access to the reservation.

Make sure you and your roommate are staying the same number of nights – if you’re solo for any portion of the stay, you’ll be responsible for the full cost of those nights.

And don’t forget to confirm that your reservation is part of the AMCAW room block so you receive all the included perks!

Is parking available at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld?

Yes! Overnight parking is complimentary for guests staying at the hotel as part of the AMCAW group.

Day attendees will pay a discounted rate of $10.00 per day (regularly $30.00 for the public), so be sure to mention you’re attending SINTER at check-in.

Can I get meal tickets for a friend travelling with me?

Yes, guest meal tickets are available for the Saturday night Beach Party dinner only. [Insert link to Beach Party meal form]

Are vegan options available?

Yes! All lunches and the Saturday night Beach Party dinner will be served buffet-style, with a variety of options – including vegan choices – to accommodate different dietary preferences.

What if I have a food allergy?

We take food allergies seriously. Please indicate any allergies on your registration form so we can inform the hotel in advance. Both lunches and the Beach Party dinner will feature generous buffet spreads with plenty of options. If you’re unsure about any dish, don’t hesitate to ask a server for more details.

Allergen Disclaimer
While the food for SINTER is provided and prepared by the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld, AMCAW is committed to sharing important allergen information with all attendees. Please be aware that meals may contain common allergens such as wheat, gluten, peanuts, nuts, sesame seeds, celery, soya, milk, eggs, mustard, lupin, molluscs, crustaceans, fish, and sulphur dioxide.

The hotel requires the full names and accurate allergen details of all attendees with dietary restrictions. To ensure proper accommodations, AMCAW will communicate these details to the hotel no later than 14 days before the event, so it’s essential that you disclose any dietary requirements when registering or purchasing meal tickets.

Because the hotel’s kitchens handle allergenic ingredients, cross-contamination is possible. While every effort is made to accommodate dietary needs, AMCAW encourages attendees to be aware of this when making meal choices.

This notice helps you make informed decisions and sets realistic expectations about the dining experience.
